C:\>DIR Cambridge Regulator Visiting Fellowship
A Residential Programme for Senior Leaders in Regulatory Innovation
One-Week, Cross-Regulatory, Selective, Cohort-Based
The Cambridge Regulator Visiting Fellowship is a one-week, selective residential programme for senior leaders working at the intersection of digital innovation and digital regulation, across financial, data, communications, competition and related domains. Delivered in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP), the Fellowship provides a structured environment for collective inquiry, peer learning and the development of actionable regulatory innovation propositions.
Fellows are chosen through a joint selection process led by C:\>DIR and CSaP to ensure a balanced cohort of senior policymakers, central bankers and regulatory executives with complementary experience and shared responsibility for shaping regulatory systems in a period of rapid technological change. The residential format allows participants to step back from the pressures of their everyday work and engage in sustained, focused dialogue and explore new ways to innovate and collaborate.
Across the week, Fellows take part in seminars, roundtables and facilitated working sessions with academics, industry leaders and peers from other jurisdictions. These sessions encourage cross-sector understanding and honest exchange, recognising that many regulatory challenges - and opportunities - are now shared across institutions, domains and jurisdictions.
A defining element of the programme is the development of regulatory innovation propositions. Fellows work individually or in small groups to design concepts that address common challenges or harness common opportunities at the intersection of digital innovation and digital regulation. These propositions are refined through structured peer feedback and expert input, enabling participants to return home with ideas that can be advanced within their own institutions or developed further through collaboration with fellow regulators.
The Fellows will leave Cambridge with new perspectives, a strengthened peer network and a concrete innovation proposition that reflects both individual insight and collective learning. Upon completion of the Fellowship, the Regulator Fellows will automatically join the CsaP’s global policy fellowship alumni network and Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance’s Regulator Knowledge Exchange (RKE), a digital regulatory community platform with more than 3,000 regulator members from 250+ public authorities and 150+ countries.
